Excluding the signing bonus (so just base + minimum bonus) I've seen total comps at these top firms go from 250-325k. As far as comp progression goes my friend at Two Sigma 4 years in is making ~350k yearly and my friend at DE Shaw is getting ~320k 2.5 years in.

I think that Google SWE compared to Two Sigma SWE may be a toss up, but Two Sigma SWE has much greater resume value than STEP.
