The Ithaca (SKB) XL 900 shotgun is a gas operated semi automatic cabable of firing both 2 3/4" and 3 " shells. There is a gas adjustment valve between the barrel and magazine tube under the wood fore-end. They did make an older recoil operated version of the 900.
