If you used your flash drive to import the machine settings (page 21) it should have pulled in the lens data enabling you to skip to step 2. My Atomstack burned the lens and couldn't cut plywood any more. I have a 5w diode and can cut 3mm in like 12 passes… distance doesn't matter as long as you are properly focused. I would bring the lens down about 1/2 the thickness of the wood.

If the laser moves but doesnt fire it could be thinking the enclosure is open.
