My neighbor has a 97 300 4x4 and he let me borrow it so I could see what was wrong with mine. I put my coil on his atv and it worked great, put my cdi box on his atv and that worked, put my rectifier/regulator on his and it worked. Tried his parts on mine and nothing gave me a spark. I checked all the wiring including the key switch and kill ...1988 TRX350D no spark. We recently purchased a Foreman 350 that did not have spark. We have replaced the CDI, ignition coil, and the stator. I have tested for continuity on every wire I can think of as well as cleaned and checked all connections. I also have grounded the neutral safety switch.

If you have compression, a good strong blue spark, if the timing is set right, if the valve clearance is correct and you're getting gas/starting fluid into the cylinder, it should at least "hit" two or three times and try to start until the gas/starting fluid burns out of the cylinder. ….

Now hold the sparkplug up to the frame of the Honda and try starting it, you should see spark. If you do, you likely have a fuel issue. If you do not, you likely have an electrical issue. Pull the plug and crank it wtiuh the starter and there is no spark but the moment you let off the button, the spark appears.
